[SIPForum-discussion] Call Processing Language ( CPL )

Well.. some people are so busy, yet they have time to flame in great
lengths instead of simply pointing courteously to something like:

<http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html>

I can tell you for sure that you don't have to write your Full Name or
Company name or Contact details to get a help here. But yes read the
above link and avoid writing abstract questions.

As far as your question is concerned AFAICT you wish to transfer
audio/video between two parties using a SIP call. For this you need two
clients and a SIP server. In theory you don't even need a SIP server to
do this if your clients can reach each other directly, but since you
have a Asterisk server setup then best to make use of it. You don't
implement SIP using CPL, with CPL you create services on server. You can
implement services on Asterisk using CPL, but for simple call you don't
have to. On your two clients you need SIP client software on each with
one audio codec and one video codec (yes RTP as well). Now you can spend
lot of time implementing these components from scratch or you can take
some simple open source implementations and port it to you clients. Once
you have ported all these libraries you can write simple SIP Call Agent
software on top of it. Try targeting an audio call before you move to
video call.

Hope it helps

Subject: Re: [SIPForum-discussion] Call Processing Language ( CPL )

I am a student and I am working on a project as a part of my course
demands it. The task what right now I am trying to accomplish is that I
have got a FPGA board which is working as a client and at the same time
I have installed Asterisk Server on a Linux environment so that both can
exchange data between them.

Now what I am planning to do is that I want to implement SIP Protocol
for sending media data like audio and video using either C or C++ or
any text based language. Through some research I have come across this
CPL and found that it may suit my needs, since it is text based and
similar to XML.

Or do you have any suggestions of how I can implement this SIP Protocol,
I can say that I am a newbie in this field and since this is also a
student project I am really clueless. So any valuable suggestions would
be greatly appreciated.

If you need any more details then please let me know.

I am pursuing my studies in Information Engineering.

Regards,

Mahesh

Come on.... we are not running TV Programs in SIPFORUM. Just
understand the criticality of any problem / issue / bug / theory
described and the hidden cost of being a SIPFORUM member.

We are not statues or Compact Fluorescent Lamp having no work. We all
work....We are not show pieces.........

We will provide the details only if you give the necessary details
with the project data you are working on.
