[SIPForum-discussion] INVITE without SDP(offer)

If you had G.711u in your 200 OK responses as optional codec, then your
phone should accept the call. If you did not offer G.711 in your 200 OK
that mean your phone will not handle that codec and the call will be
rejected by the phone.

From your mail I think your phone may be offering G.711 as an optional
codec and that could be reason the far end send you an Ack with that as
it primary codec. In that case your phone should accept the call and use
G711 as your codec.

Subject: [SIPForum-discussion] INVITE without SDP(offer)

Hi all,

I am facing a very strange situation. The gateway that I am using for
PSTN calls sends me an initial INVITE without SDP. I send out an offer
in my 200 OK response with G.729 as the primary codec. The answer that I
get in ACK from the gateway contains G.711 u law as the primary codec.
What should my phone do, should it drop the call or establish a call by
changing my codec to G.711 mu law.

My phone is currently rejecting the call with a BYE.

Please help me out..

Thanks in advance
