Hi Harish,

       There are two types of Session.,viz

Signalling Session,
Media Session.

       The session which we are establishing through SIP is called as Signaling session., which is used to negotiate the Media Capabilities of Both the Parties with the means of SDP. You will establish a media session through RTP., once the negotiation of Media capabilites gets completed.

       i.e., the SIP is only used to Initiate, modify and terminate the Session., and RTP and SIP are Independent.
