I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't work across OSs, it's something that happens at the application level. But obviously the application needs to exist on those OS.

 

The link provided by Thomas (http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-smith-sipping-auth-examples-01) will certainly clarified how it works. In a nutshell, "digest authentication" is the "standard" authentication method in SIP (see http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3261 section 22) and is based on HTTP digest authentication (see http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2617).

Hi Bilal,

 

XMediusFAX supports SIP, T.38 and SIP digest authentication. It can be installed on regular Windows, but it is usually installed on Windows server editions.
