Hi,

The assumption here is that the UAs conform to RFC3261. But, a UA may also ignore the Record-route headers and exchange future messages directly. So, a SIP server cannot force UAs to exchange messages through it, it can also ask them to do so. One should be careful when depending on this mechanism.

What do you think? For which purposes these headers are used in the industry?
