SIP trunking interoperability, security, and SIP- IPv6 deployment challenges are several of the agenda topics at SIPNOC US 2012 <http://www.sipforum.org/content/view/369/270/> , the two-day conference presented by the SIP Forum <http://www.sipforum.org/> for service provider engineering and technical staff that is taking place June 25-27 at the Hyatt Dulles Hotel in Herndon, VA. Now in its second year, SIPNOC US 2012 is a unique educational conference for international telecom stakeholders responsible for the deployment, management and ongoing operation of SIP-based services in service provider networks.

The preliminary SIPNOC US 2012 conference schedule <http://www.sipforum.org/content/view/378/278/> features presentations, speeches and panels by representatives of leading international wireline and broadband service providers, government officials and academic researchers. Speakers will explore critical "real-world" service provider challenges related to SIP applications and infrastructure, including: network security, SIP trunking, testing and application development, Fax over IP, call routing and peering, IPv6, troubleshooting and monitoring, emergency services and more.

"This year's conference line-up is designed to build on the conversation started at last year's inaugural SIPNOC by some of our industry's brightest technical minds," said Marc Robins, SIP Forum President and Managing Director. "We believe the presentations will be insightful and educational for conferees; we also hope they will spur interesting discussions and the free exchange of ideas, ultimately leading to tangible progress that positively impacts global service provider SIP deployments."

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Henning Schulzrinne will present the SIPNOC US 2012 keynote address. A principal architect of the SIP standard, Schulzrinne has published more than 250 journal and conference papers and more than 70 Internet Requests for Comment (RFCs), helping to shape and formulate key protocols for enabling voice-over-IP (VoIP), such as SIP, into Internet Standards.
