are they using sonus nbs if i am not wrong..inbound and outbound PSPs are the things they can tweak for sure and thats what they are doing..inband tones anyway consure more CPU..also depends on the media servers and call servers what they expect whether inband or RFC2833..

Level 3 sending both tones and 2833 has caused problems for my customers in the past, primarily with voice mail retrieval. I was able to get L3 to suppress the tones for me by modifying their PSP on the NBS (I think).
