Hi,

SIP uses DNS procedures in order to resolv the next hop address, in that
case SIP Proxy address.
Those procedures are decribed in RCF 3263. Generally the input is SIP URI
address and output
is a set of addresses each composed of transport indicator, IP and port. UAC
should try each address
until a server is contacted
