Hi Amit,
  my few cents ...
Request URI is not always the "immediate next receiver". Actually rfc 3261
follows loose routing i.e request uri is a final destination and ideally do
not change with node ( state full proxy ) traveral. while rfc 2543 ( old sip
rfc) follows strict routing which ideally keeps request uri as "immediate
next receiver".

Thanks
Gaurav Katiyar

one more thing i need to add on this, if there is no record-route header
field there in message then below statement is correct but if there is any
record-route header field in message then next receiver of the request is
value of record-route header.

thanks
vijay

Thanks to both of you,

Cheers
Amit
