[SIPForum-discussion] time between INVITE and 180 Ringing

Dear All,

 

What is the acceptable time duration between an INVITE and 180 Ringing
message to declare a timeout? 

 

I have a SIP UA, which sometimes delays replying 180 when it receives an
INVITE. It sends a 100 trying message and take sometime to send 180
Ringing. Server waits for few seconds and sends a CANCEL message, while
sending a time out message to the calling party.
