 Hi Prasnna,

The content-type in ACK request is application/sdp not text/plain, its a typo mistake. Is it valid now?

Regards,

Ayyanar

Yes Prasanna you are right, The SDP negotiation is done in 200OK and ACK and the INVITE also has a message body but not SDP. Am I still violating any RFC.
Please tell me the RFC number that my call flow violates.

Regards,
Ayyanar

Hi Ayyanar,

One thing is that your flow is not valid as it is not compliant to the RFC in terms of SDP negotiation in INVITE. At least two of (INVITE, 2XX, ACK) must carry SDP as message body.

In general, it is not required for proxies to touch the message body and they should it just pass it through.

Prasanna

Subject: [SIPForum-discussion] Sending text information in INVITE

Hi,
I have doubt on sending text information in INVITE's body. The message flow is below
UA1 <-----------------SIP Public Network -------------> UA2
 ------------------------INVITE----------------------------------->INVITE: abc at domain1.comTo: blah blahFrom: Blah BlahContent-Type: text/plainCseq: INVITE 1
Message Body:Line Based Text: Hi How are you? Please call me
<-----------------------200 OK-----------------------------------200 OKTo: blah blahFrom: Blah BlahCseq: INVITE 1Content-Type: application/sdp
Message Body:SDP
-------------------------ACK------------------------------------->ACK: abc at domain1.comTo: blah blahFrom: Blah BlahContent-Type: text/plainCseq: ACK 1
Message Body:SDP
Now my question is, will the text information reach UA2 even after crossing so many SBC's, application servers and Proxies in the public network.. Is the body untouched here?
Regards,Ayyanar
