Hi,

Look in RFC 3551

 Some comments on the SDP

1. There is no G.729a media subtype defined. If you specify G729 it
means either G729 or G729a and you shoulde be able to receive both (see RFC
3551)

2. The default for annexb is yes so if you do not want to support
annex b offer with annexb=no

Subject: [SIPForum-discussion] Where the CODEC G729A or G729B is define

Hi Fellows.

One question I am trying to send send a Call to a specified Carrier and he
is telling me that I am sending the INVITE with codec g729b

And he are expecting to receive just g729a, and he can’t send me his codec
using 183/200OK SDP.

Seeing into the INVITE where is define that I am sending g279b and not
g729a,

INVITE sip:29725723244195 at 208.65.92.32:5060;user=phone SIP/2.0

...

...

v=0

o=MG4000|2.0 182208 182208 IN IP4 172.18.75.2

s=-

c=IN IP4 204.2.240.194

t=0 0

m=audio 56952 RTP/AVP 18 98 101 13

a=rtpmap:98 G.729a/8000

a=rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000

a=fmtp:101 0-15

a=fmtp:18 annexb=yes

a=ptime:10

a=rtpmap:13 CN/8000

This line(a=rtpmap:98 G.729a/8000) doesn’t mean that I am sending G729A? or
is the line {m=audio 56952 RTP/AVP 18 98 101 13} and a=fmtp:18 annexb=yes
(b), that means the codec out is (g729b)?

Guillermo
