Hi,

Well I don’t think that is valid, but I had given this example purly on
syntax basis and had not checked on the semantics.. :-)

Please notice that the two "Via" here have the same branch ID. I just want
to know if this valid?

Thanks.

Either format is valid. Like may SIP header, the Via can contain multiple
values separated by commas. Note however if it is on multiple lines, then
the second line must begin with at least one space so it is seen as a
contnuation line.

Via: SIP/2.0/UDP <http://server10.biloxi.com/>
server10.biloxi.com;branch=z9hG4bK776asdhds;received= <http://192.0.2.1/>
192.0.2.1,<CR><LF>

<SP>SIP/2.0/UDP <http://server11.biloxi.com/>
server11.biloxi.com;branch=z9hG2fdK776asdhds;received= <http://192.0.2.2/>
192.0.2.2

If I wrote it in this form:

Via: SIP/2.0/UDP <http://server10.biloxi.com/>
server10.biloxi.com;branch=z9hG4bK776asdhds;received= <http://192.0.2.1/>
192.0.2.1,<CR><LF>

Via: SIP/2.0/UDP <http://server11.biloxi.com/>
server11.biloxi.com;branch=z9hG2fdK776asdhds;received= <http://192.0.2.2/>
192.0.2.2

Is it identical with yours?

cheers,

(-:bob

Hi Ganesh,

The second format is right, mentioning two 'Via' headers. First format is
wrong. Stack would give parsing error if first format is used.

Niketa

Hi everyone,

Sorry to trouble again, I wanted to know if there are multiple via headers
in a sip request could the header be written in the following manner?

" Via: SIP/2.0/UDP server10.biloxi.com <http://server10.biloxi.com/>
;branch=z9hG4bK776asdhds;received=192.0.2.1 <http://192.0.2.1/> ,

SIP/2.0/UDP server11.biloxi.com <http://server11.biloxi.com/>
;branch=z9hG2fdK776asdhds;received=192.0.2.2 <http://192.0.2.2/> "

Or do we write it as,

" Via: SIP/2.0/UDP server10.biloxi.com <http://server10.biloxi.com/>
;branch=z9hG4bK776asdhds;received=192.0.2.1 <http://192.0.2.1/>

   Via: SIP/2.0/UDP server11.biloxi.com <http://server11.biloxi.com/>
;branch=z9hG2fdK776asdhds;received=192.0.2.2 <http://192.0.2.2/> "

And if it is the later then is the first header format wrong? Or is it
possible to write the header in that format?

Awaiting reply.

Thanks in advance

Ganesh
