[SIPForum-discussion] Doubt regarding FORKING.

Hi,
UAC may receive multiple 200 OK responses for initial INVITE because for forking. there would be three scenarios when we fork the request
- One when we received final response (200 OK) from callee
- Or we have received provisional responses from callee
- Or we haven’t received any response from callee.

In first scenario, caller should generate ACK immediately for all other 200 OK responses if there was an offer in the 200 OK response than including an answer in ACK request. and then send BYE immediately

in next scenario, UAC may generate CANCEL but proxy should not initiate CANCEL and forward all responses back to UAC.

in last case, wait for 100 trying and than send CANCEL.

Please correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks

Hi, Ashish
I can't quite understand what's your meaning of "one way media"
I think other UAs which respond slower has no chance to establish media stream with the caller.

I have tried this.

It gives illusion that three are in conference however the RTP does not fork.  So one of the phone finds both way media and other finds one way media.

Hi
I think when receiving 2 or more responses because of forking, the caller should send ACK to the quickest reponding callee by its Contact URI and send CANCEL to the others. So it is impossible that caller sends more than one ACK to different URIs. And also it's not the case as it is done in conferencing.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Hi All,

I have a doubt regarding FORKING.
While FORKING, we get so many URI's as in RESPONSE, and than we send INVITE to all.
Is it possible to get ACK from 2 or more of the endpoints ??

And if Yes what will happen ??

Will all the 3 be in conference ??  or what will happen ??

Thanks in Advance.. :)
Reply will be highly appreciated.
