Mandatory header field varies from one Request/response to others ::

 

As per RFC 3261 >>

 

>>Contact header is mandatory for INVITE and 2XX response to INVITE.

>> For any other SIP Request/response, it is not mandatory

Thanks for your email & I do NOT think that's correct.
Contact header is not a mandatory field.

I believe the mandatory fields are,
1. To
2. From
3. CSeq
4. Call-ID
5. Max forwards
6. Via
