Hi Franz
Atleast I hope there should be an IAF ( Internet Aware Fax ) Device which
could directly talk over SIP to the Internet without use of an analog
terminal adapter .
Please correct me if I am wrong
Regards
Siva

I don't think so. T.38 is a protocol for efficient transport of
fax-communications over the Internet and a fax machine is a piece of
hardware which is usually connected to aa ATA (analog terminal adapter). In
case of the Speed Touch 780 this ATA is integrated into the modem.
You will never find T.38 support on a softphone.
Cheers
Franz

Speed Touch 780 from Thomson (http://www.speedtouch.co.uk/).
It is a DSL modem with integrated SIP UA.
