I am right now involved in testing of Proxy server. The scenario is
given below.
 
 
UAC ----> Proxy ---------> UAS
 
when UAS sending 180 ringing response towards UAC through Proxy I got
some doubts .
 
1) when UAS sending 180 ringing with out From and To headers The Proxy
server crashes ? ---- Is this scenario is right to raise the defect.I
have not found any information regarding this scenario.
 
The responding party must send the "To-tag" in its very first answer.
Since the to tag is conveyed in To header,  To header must be in the
180. Smell of a defect.
 
2) when UAS sending with out call-id - then proxy forwards it towards
UAC but UAC not accepts it.-- Is this scenario is right to raise the
defect.
 
Is the proxy stateless or statefull? 
If proxy is stateful it should reject the 180 (w/o call id ) that is
coming from the UAS. (Defects for both proxy and UAS)
For both cases the UAC is correct in not accepting the 180 response,
since it can not know for which session the the 180 is coming.
For both cases defect for UAS.
 
 
Please clarify my boubts ASAP
