Hi,

Residential applications are used in the carrier space. Residential users
have mostly brown phones. Add an adapter (IAD) that talks simple MGCP and
now you've interworked the analog phones to IP. Same is true for a lot of
businesses, hotel/motel, campus applications where analog phone is top dog.

Regards, Peggy

Subject: [SIPForum-discussion] doubt regradinng SIP and MGCP

Hi,

can anyone please tell me, what is the use of MGCP in Networks because I'm
getting confused with SIP, H323 and MGCP in many situations.

As well as, How SIP will overcome the present, traditional circuit
switched networks? will it be using MGCP for this or it tries to eliminate
MGCP?

waiting for your reply

with regards

Ponrajdurai Sokkeswaran.
