SIPNOC 2020 Webinar Registrations Are Live!

Special Free-to-Attend Webinar Series takes place December 7-11, 2020; Maintains focus on issues vital to the deployment of the STIR/SHAKEN Call Authentication Framework and the ongoing efforts to combat illegal Robocalls and Caller ID Spoofing

The SIP Forum is proud to announce that the official agenda and webinar registrations <https://www.sipforum.org/news-events/sipnoc-2020-overview/schedule/> are now live for SIPNOC 2020, a special webinar series focusing on the remaining challenges and opportunities related to the deployment of the STIR/SHAKEN Call Authentication Framework as the June 2021 FCC deadline for deployment looms.

The SIP Forum is also proud to report that due to overwhelming sponsor support <https://www.sipforum.org/news-events/sipnoc-2020-overview/#sponsors> , SIPNOC 2020 will be free to attend! Current SIPNOC 2020 sponsors include Diamond Sponsors Bandwidth <https://www.bandwidth.com/> , iconectiv <https://iconectiv.com/> , Neustar <http://www.stirshaken.neustar/> and Somos <https://www.somos.com/> ; Platinum Sponsors Ribbon Communications <https://ribboncommunications.com/products/service-provider-products/cloud-and-edge/identity-assurance> and Verizon <https://www.verizon.com/> ; and Gold Sponsors AT <https://www.att.com/> &T, ECG <http://ecg.co/> , Metaswitch <https://www.metaswitch.com/> , NetNumber <https://www.netnumber.com/> , SecureLogix <https://www.securelogix.com/> , TransNexus <https://www.transnexus.com/> , and Twilio <https://www.twilio.com/> .

SIPNOC 2020 will feature a series of webinars that focus on issues critical to the reliable and successful deployment and operation of STIR/SHAKEN in today's IP-based network environments, as well as associated topics including discussion of the ramifications of governmental regulatory, legislative and enforcement actions and critical security issues.

Developed jointly by the SIP Forum and ATIS (the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions) to efficiently implement the Internet Engineering Task Force's (IETF) STIR (for Secure Telephony Identity Revisited) standard, SHAKEN <https://www.sipforum.org/activities/nni-task-force-introduction/> (for Signature-based Handling of Asserted information using toKENs) defines a mechanism to verify the calling number and specifies how it will be transported across communications networks.

Together, STIR/SHAKEN offers a practical mechanism to provide verified information about the calling party as well as the origin of the call — what is known as “attestation” — for the first time in the network. Giving service providers the tools needed to sign and verify calling numbers makes it possible for businesses and consumers to know, before answering, that the calls they receive are from legitimate parties.

SIPNOC 2020 will feature content including:

*	Update on the STIR/SHAKEN Framework and IP-NNI Task Force Milestones
*	Out-Of-Band SHAKEN Solutions
