[SIPForum-discussion] strange behavior

Do the OPTIONS messages have the same call ID as the INVITE and do they have 'tag=xxxxx' on both to: and from: header?
They are every 360 seconds which tells me that this might be a keep-alive - if you are going through a firewall then it might be designed to keep the NAT refreshed.

Dear Stephen, thanks for the answer. Sorry i did not understand what you mean with OPTIONS within the call dialog? What i know is that i can disable the equipment to receive OPTIONS on SIP signaling by using a flag, do you think that disabling the OPTIONS messages from equipment could help? I am worried if this could cause billing disputes because all these calls are disconnected by my equipment by timeout (3600 seconds) so i am sure my vendor will charge this call to me but should i charge this call to my customer? For what reason a call will need OPTIONS messages?
Thanks a lot!

Vinicio

It is possible that the OPTIONS are being used as a session timer. Are the OPTIONS within the call dialog? They might be heartbeat type OPTIONS as well.
