Every provider has different requirements for authenticating and allowing calls on a sip trunk, so its best to discuss with the provider to understand what they are looking for. I will list few of the examples here

-> Might need a one time registration from the PBX
-> Might need an hourly or daily registration from the PBX
-> Might need to see a valid number that the trunk recognizes in the user from header. For eg the mainboard number may be recognized but an individual extension might not.
-> Might want to see the trunk IP in the host part of the to header.

Regards
Santosh.

Hi all,

Is there anything extra required in order to test a sip trunk ? Any change to the SIP Invite message? From a user-agent’s point of view?

Thanks,

Badri.
