[SIPForum-discussion] certification on SSCA

Good Evening Rajesh, I hope you are well. Having completed the SSCA certification within the last 6 months, I was incredibly impressed with the content and the delivery mechanism - these guys have worked hard to formulate a very structured and well thought out course. From my perspective, I had been working with SIP for about 4 years, working on a blend of carrier level networks; hosted IP telephony platforms and IP-PBX technologies. I was confident in my knowledge about the SIP protocol - but this course filled in a lot of gaps and gave me an industry recognised badge that verified my knowledge/understanding of SIP. It is supported by a number of reputable business - http://thesipschool.com/industry.html It is also fully supported and endorsed by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) - http://www.tiaonline.org/resources/certification As you can probably tell, I'm a bit of a fan :-)  But in all seriousness, if you want to build upon your existing knowledge of SIP then the SSCA would be worthwhile...without a doubt! The vendor specific qualifications are very good, but although they tend to cover SIP...it is generally at a high level, as they are more focused on their respective proprietary protocols or indeed their "implementation" of the RFC3261 SIP stack. In my view, there is nothing wrong with that - I'm working on my CCIE Voice, which is heavily focused on Skinny, H323, MGCP etc and although it does include SIP...the SSCA is a focused/dedicated/specialist certification.
