[SIPForum-discussion] Solutions for Faxing over Sip

I have found that cutting the fax speed down to 9600 baud helps enormously,
even if the SIP device through which you're working supports T.38.
Sometimes you need to turn off error-correction, too.

Subject: [SIPForum-discussion] Solutions for Faxing over Sip

Are there any SIP operators who have any experience with faxing using SIP
and t38?

We are a broad works operator with T38 enabled network and we are getting
mixed results with sometimes issues faxing to certain TN's and sometimes the
remote caller cannot fax inbound.

Typically we see 488 errors being returned but sometimes there are no errors
but the fax machine returns the error.

We are looking for a solution that does not involve third party carriers
such as fax serving or faxing over https.
