[SIPForum-discussion] Inband DTMF and RFC 2833 dtmf

Hello All,
What's the advantage of using of RFC 2833 dtmf method over Inband?
As far as I understand, both these dtmf methods can have issues when used with G729 codecs (G723  i believe is out of the equation). 
If it is why do some carriers prefer rfc 2833?
