I think it depends how many SIP fields proxy server is inserting while making request or response.

I've never come across this question before, and I don't recall any restrictions. I would start in RFC 3261, section 7.3.1:

http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3261#section-7.3

Hi all,

I need some clarification related to SIP Header field length.
what is the maximum length we use for each SIP headers (From,To,etc)?

Because in our softswitch Header length started varying for each request.

Could you tell me is there any thing from the Rfc section which tells about the restriction of SIP header length?

Regards
