RPID is based on an Internet draft from 2002 (draft-ietf-sip-privacy-04.txt
" SIP Extensions for Network-Asserted Caller Identity and Privacy within
Trusted Networks") which is already expired.
PAI is the official RFC backed by operators (RFC 3325 " Private Extensions
to SIP for Asserted Identity within Trusted Networks") in their standards.

Both header fields roughly cover the same issue and RPID was the first
before an official standard was defined.
Some equipment vendors still support RPID but it should be regarded as
deprecated.
