[SIPForum-discussion] difference btw 408 and 504

Hi,
 
Im
trying to automate 408 scenarios, however everytime I try it I get 504 gateway
timeout.
 
If I sent invite
from A, with following scenarios
	1. B sends 100 & 180 then doesn’t send anymore message, A gets 504 from softswitch.
	2. B sends nothing (Infact B is not even registered), A side I get 504 from softswitch
 
Can someone please
tell whats the difference btw 408 & 504.
& how I can
make a 408 call flow,
