[SIPForum-discussion] use of multiple contact

Hi,

As I mentioned in my previous answer, forking is possible because
in SIP there can be multiple registrations corresponding to the same AOR.
This means that particular SIP URI can be reachable under multiple
physical destinations. Each such registration can be performed by one or
more
REGISTER message exchanges with registrar. Both REGISTER request and
as well as the response can contain more then one address bindings in the
Contact header.
But the meaning of the Contact header in REGISTER request and
it response is completely different then those in other requests.
Similarly with 3xx responses sent by redirect server.

Kind regards,
- Tomasz Zieleniewski
