[SIPForum-discussion] RTP BV 32 and G.711

Hi All,
 
I saw in one of my traces far end sending RTP with BV32. I understand that BV32 is wideband version of broad voice codec.
 
Does BV32 involve any sort of voice compression? If not is it better than G.711 codec?
 
Please explain.
