thanks for the reply ^_^
I want to know , is it very frequent that all the provisional
responses(include 100,180) are lost over UDP transport??
Best Regards.

Subject: Re: [SIPForum-discussion] HELP: a question about stateful proxy
Hi,
Nancy stateful proxy must send 100 response, of course only
for INVITE requests, unless it knows it will generate other response
within 200ms (in fact very seldom check).
If 100 response reaches UAC which sent the INVITE
then the UAC stops any further retransmissions. But
keep in mind that 100 response can be sent through
unreliable UDP transport and can be lost.
In such case UAC will fire retransmission.
Kind regards,

Hi all,
I have a confusion that in SIP protocol is it Mandatory a stateful proxy
must send a 100 response when it receives an invite request ?? A stateful
proxy will not receive request retransmissions??
if the description as before is not true , then, in which case the
stateful proxy will receive request retransmissions??
Best Regards.
nancy
