P-Asserted Identity is nothing but your identity, :)
For e.g When you are calling into your office Voicemail system, you are calling from your desk & you number is 1101
So the invite that goes to the voicemail system from the call agent will carry your number in p asserted identity field.

So when you call, Bang - you are connected. A call from you desk is assumed to be called by You. How is it done in SIP is "P-Asserted" Identity.

1. What is P-Asserted-ID SIP header used for?

2. If you would like to re-write the telephone number coming in from:
field, by a dummy telephone number
which SIP field might be used to store this dummy number to be
exchange in a further step (in the from: field)?

....(I really do not see the reason behind this wish, any idea will be welcome)

Thanks a lot in advanced for your contributions,
kind Regards,
/Mario
