Hi,
I think it is because S-CSCF needs to authenticate the request first and then decides it operation. If it is not authorized yet, it's non-sense to check the exact fields of the SIP message.

Hello Ashis
I am confused here now. Can you please describe little bit why it will send 401 Authentication Error. Becasue as per me it should send the BAD REQUEST ERROR.
Regards

The server should send 401 response and once again UE will send Register message with the expire header 0 , so that the UE should get unregistered.
This is the default behavior of the server.

Hi, all
If a subscriber does not register . He send the register message with the expire=0, what will happens?
1. The server will return "423 Interval Too Brief "
or
2. The server will send 401 and the authentication vector to the user , the user will send the vector and expire=0 to the network again?
thanks
