As far as I am aware, most SIP implementations use the authentication
methods described in section 22 of RFC 3261.

Can you detail the differences that you have noticed in your experience
with various service providers across the globe?

Subject: [SIPForum-discussion] Various authorizatoin schemes in
SIP

	 Dear All,

I'm investigating various methods of 'Authorization' while
Registering a SIP device to the platform. In my experience with various
service providers across the globe, I noticed that each one of them uses
a different method for device authentication and registration. This will
make it increasingly difficult for VoIP CPE vendors to 'customise' their
devices before testing at a telco. I wish to propose a standardised
methodology for this process.

Does anyone know any specific methods ? Or does anybody wish to
propose the 'most common' or the 'best methodology' ? Is there any place
where I can get collective information on this ?

Any help will be much appreciated.

	Thanks and Regards,
	Abhinav Gandhi
