U need to go to RFC 3665....There it is explained beautifully....
In Call transfer the transferor sends the REFER request with a
mandatory refer-To and optional Refer-By header field.In the Refer-To
field it puts the transfer target(i.e the 3rd party) and the Refer-By
it puts own address.The Transferee sends 202 Accepted followed by
NOTIFY.And then the transferee sends the new INVITE to the transfer
target and sets the session with it.And So on......u can get the whole
call flow with the messages in 3665.The only mistake there is-----in
unattended transfer Bye-200 OK will come last and not before the
second session established.....
