I figured others in the group may want the information on the related
TIA standards. They include requirements for SIP. We have been
monitoring the SIP Forum and waiting for this group to become active
before pursuing any additional updates to current versions.

Im attending this group from the standpoint of being the chair of the
following TIA group that has related specifications either already
published or pending publication.
        TR41.4 VoIP Systems - IP Telephony Infrastructure and Endpoints
        The VoIP Systems Subcommittee develops standards and
        Telecommunication Systems Bulletins     (TSBs) to assist in the
        development and deployment of IP Telephony Infrastructure and
Endpoints.
        The infrastructure documents promote performance and other
        criteria essential to the proper        operation and
interconnection of
        IP Telephony infrastructure components as well as their
        interfaces with external networks. The Subcommittee extends the
VoIP
        Endpoints from basic    telephony to the advanced feature level
and
        seeks to promote the interoperability of these  endpoints with
other
        VoIP infrastructure equipment and applications such as call
management
        systems, routing systems and gateways. The Subcommittee also
liaises
        with other standards    groups whose work affects elements
within the
        VoIP Systems.
        TR-41.4 also undertakes engineering tasks that Engineering
        Committee TR-41 may request such        as maintenance of
existing
        Multi-Line Telecommunications Systems (MLTS) standards.

        TIA-811-A (published)
        Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Performance
and Interoperability    Requirements for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) Feature

TR41.4 may or may not need to issue new editions of these standards
based on what comes out of this SIP Forum phone group. It remains to be
