Hello Chandan,

The fact that B responds with 2 out of original 3 choices of codecs A
sent, is A and B both are capable of decoding those 2 codecs - say X and Y

For each m-line negotiated (agreed between A and B), both A and B shares
their RTP ports.

So, it is understood that both A and B would be listening on each of the 2
ports they respectively announced. Inherently, wherever a data is being
received, that data will be decoded using RTP header information (Payload
Type, etc.). Through the initial negotiation, it is understood, both A and
B are capable of decoding the data whether it is of X-type or Y-type.

thanks,
Dipanjan

[SIPForum-discussion] Query regarding offer-answewr

Hi,

 I have a query regarding offer-anser.

Suppose A party sends offer with 3 'm' line. then my question is that

1. B party can send 2 out of the 3 received 'm' line or not.
2. if yes ,then which wud be used for opening RTP connection.
