If you want to support infinity in expires, you can ignore the the values in the expire header and program/provision the Registrar/ApplicationServer to keep the registration forever without any expiration/timeout.

The Expires field is used to indicate the duration of the binding of the Contact. Not sure if Infinity would be supported. However, As Per RFC3261, I think you can probably set it to a max value which is supposed to be 2**32 -1. (practically equivalent to 136 years)This is what the RFC states. expires: The "expires" parameter indicates how long the UA would           like the binding to be valid.  The value is a number           indicating seconds.  If this
 parameter is not provided, the           value of the Expires header field is used instead.           Implementations MAY treat values larger than 2**32-1           (4294967295 seconds or 136 years) as equivalent to 2**32-1.           Malformed values SHOULD be treated as equivalent to 3600.Hope this helps. RegardsSreekant Nair
