Hy everybody,

In my opinion and as i already read it :

- Session involves many participants (ie many UA)

- dialog involves two UA and only two.

- transaction is part of dialog.

 

A multipoint session will make use of dialogs wich are constituted of transactions.

as far as I know,

the term "session" represents the relationship between communication entities.

During the SIP session, there are many dialogs.

Dialog is consisted of series of transactions. Transaction is the basic entity of SIP request/response model. For example, 'A' party sends INVITE message to 'B', then INVITE transaction starts.

Generally a dialog involves media processing ( RTP ) and it ends with BYE normally.

As i know it a session is term used for voice tx. and a dialog is identified by the call parameters i.e. callid, from tag, to tag.

Please reply if this is incorrect.
