Hi,

For in-band DTMF, I suggest you switch the CODEC before sending the DTMF to G.711.

But if you really need low-rate codec all the time, and can't do this codec switch, why not use outband DTMF, using RFC 2833 (or newer)?

Regards,

Herve

Hi,

Could someone give me suggestions on the best audio codec to use when DTMF is necessary and the bandwidth must be kept on a low rate?

I heard that there could be problems with DTMF and G729AnnexA but I haven't been able to do any advanced test with this.
