Hi,

H.323 call control signaling derive from ITU-T Q.931 which have some common
part with current PSTN signaling.

Where as SIP initially derive from Internet protocols like HTTP, which have
less relation ship with PSTN stile signaling.

Now in SIP field, there are solution called SIP-T or SIP-I to address this
problem, it is quite mature now a days.

Please refer to RFC3372, RFC3398 and ITU-T Q.1912.5 for more reference.

Regards!

Subject: [SIPForum-discussion] SIP - PSTN

Hi,

In many articles, they have specified that H323 can be easily
integrated with PSTN but SIP cannot be easily integrated. Can anyone tell
the reason, why SIP with PSTN integration is difficult? and How did they
overcome this problem?

waiting for your reply
