SIP Forum Publishes Call Authentication-Focused
Conference Agenda for SIPNOC 2023

12th Annual SIPNOC conference to focus on the broad Call Authentication ecosystem and the continuing efforts to eliminate illegal Robocalls, Caller ID Spoofing, and Robotexts, as well as other related topics, including the STIR/SHAKEN Framework, Call Analytics and Vetting, Branded Calling and Rich Call Data, International Traceback and STIR/SHAKEN adoption, KYC initiatives, Enterprise requirements and challenges, new SMS Text Authentication initiatives, associated U.S. Federal and State, and International regulatory and enforcement actions, and much more.

The SIP Forum <https://www.sipforum.org/> has announced its conference agenda has been published for the 12th annual SIP Network Operators Conference <https://www.sipforum.org/news-events/sipnoc-2023-overview/> (SIPNOC 2023), to be held September 12-14, 2023 at the Hilton Washington Dulles Hotel in Herndon, VA.

SIPNOC 2023 presents a unique agenda over the course of three days that includes a combination of special keynotes, presentations, and panel discussions from the experts leading the development of the STIR/SHAKEN Call Authentication Framework and other associated Call Authentication solutions, as well as leading companies providing solutions and deployment expertise - an agenda designed to address the most important call authentication-related topics for operational personnel and engineers from service providers of all stripes, including telecommunications providers, major backbone operators, interconnect and wholesale solution providers, ISPs, cable operators, wireless network operators and large enterprises, as well as industry stakeholders in the Robocall/Robotext and Caller ID Spoofing elimination/mitigation ecosystem, including governmental regulators and agencies, equipment manufacturers, large enterprises, government agencies, contact centers, application providers and data analytics firms.

SIPNOC 2023 features a primary focus on issues critical to the reliable and successful deployment and operation of STIR/SHAKEN and other Call and Text Authentication solutions, as well as associated topics including discussion of the ramifications of regulatory, legislative and enforcement actions and critical security issues.

The SIP Forum, together with the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), has been at the forefront of the Call Authentication effort ever since they formed the Network to Network Interface (IP-NNI) Joint Task Force to address unwanted and illegal Robocalls and Caller ID Spoofing, and develop standards to verify and authenticate caller identification for calls using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The outcome of this effort has been the SHAKEN Call Authentication Framework <https://www.sipforum.org/activities/nni-task-force-introduction/> .

"SIPNOC has become THE gathering place for the call authentication community. And with its return this year to in-person proceedings, we look forward to once again hosting this community and sharing the expertise and real-world experiences essential to the ongoing development of successful solutions and strategies to combat the Robocall and Robotext scourge," said Marc Robins, SIP Forum President and Managing Director, and Chair of the SIPNOC Program Committee.
